Masahisa Fukase passed away on the 9th of June 2012.
A homage to Fukase by Keiichi Nitta intended to accompany a story that never materialized for the F de C (de Rigueur) Reader #1. ( photos Keiichi Nitta )
Rare copy of Max Pam’s book ‘The Human Eye’ (F de C collection)
F de C Reader #1: MP: You have that book?!!!. it’s like rocking horse shit, basically only ever made available in Japan, they printed 2000 copies, maybe they sold 200 and the other 1,800 volumes were converted to tofu.
conversing with photographer kaori inbe and hiroyuki watanabe about work work vs personal work , the Pentax 67 giant camera, japanese ‘art’ in japan and outside japan , distressed girls , cindy sherman , (not)Araki etc etc towards the F de C Reader#2 (A.H.)
… i can never concentrate hard enough on relational aesthetics.
i get worked up, because i love kaprow like everyone loves kaprow,
but then his spirit only lingers so long … … relational aesthetics is about making room for exchange in a world dulled by the captilasation of all of our exchanges. it seeks an alternative space, event-spaces, but doesn’t it undo itself inasmuch as it lances itself off from most of our real lives thanks to its truly fantastic notion of a fully transparent public realm? … … the other night when i was thinking about bloomsbury i was thinking that we should bury relational aesthetics and replace it with relational aestheticism.
